Mr Gammans was moving the approval of the Government's licence for the BBC to operate for the next ten years.

On the future of TV he said: "We regret we are not likely to see colour, by the Coronation. It is extremely expensive, and 1} cannot give any indication, when the BBC is likely to operate H."

Mr Gommans emphasised that when colour TV does arrive, pre- sent sets will be able to receive the programmes In black and white.
