The French-born actress, unoMein Hollywood love cxpert, says the trouble with marriages in this coun try in: -
"Women aren't shower- 011 ing enough affection their husbands.
"Give a man so much atten- tion that he'll begin to consider himself a monarch in his own household."
Miss Calvet thinks her advice should be easy to hoed, even_for [* the emancipated womanhood of the United Biales.
"Equal rights are all right in their place, and I am completely In faveur of them," she said. "What good are they if they don't keep a husband where he belongs at home?"
Independence is a wonderful ideal, but she wants to know who wants it if it means scoring cft masculine companionship,

Iodine's Worth As Antiseptic
By HERMAN N. BUNDESEN, M.D.
A RECENT report for surgeons tells us that iodine is still regarded by many as one of the best antiseptics for the skin.
This is worth putting down in our mental notebooks. Even doctors have questioned the offectiveness of iodine from time to time, and the iden had occasionally arisen that it might have been dangerous to use.
But time and experience have shown that tode has proved to be a good aseptle be- cause it kills germs in a fairly short.lime. It usually does not lose its strength when it con- facts the fluid or sorum of the skin, or the fats, soaps, or oils used to clean the skin. Neither
is it irritating to the skin,
A colcured antiseptic like iodine clearly marks the portion of the skin that has been treated. This is especially desirable when an area must be disinfected thoroughly.
Another good quality of ladine is its rela- sive cheapness us compared with the cost of some other antisepiles.
out
Many studies have been carried showing that iodine is a very good antiseptic, not only for surgical wounds, but for all kinds of wounds and injuries.

THE girl in her teens when she shakes off the shackles of "Mummy choosing"-has to find a balance between sophistication and childishness,
She has to make up her mind about her hair, her make-up, and her jewellery. Often she has to fight against her figure; always she has to fight against a ̧ limited budget.
