On the night of the 16th May 1943, nineteen RAF bombers led by Wing Commander Guy 14 CLOSE DOWN. Gibson, V.C., D.S.Q., D.F.C. let loose 350 million tons of water to cause havoc in the Nazis' greatest arsenal, and did more damage to Hitler's war effort than some of the thousand bomber raids.

Next Friday is the ninth anniversary of the raid on the Moehne and Eder Dams in the Ruhr, broadcast over Radio and "The Dam Busters" Hongkong at 10 o'clock that evening structs the epic attack and tells the story of the years of patient 'back-room' work by a scientist, B. N. Wallis, that made the raid possible.

"The Dam Busters" is a BBC feature and was adapted by Paul Brickhill from his book of the same The author, who as a fighter pilot was himmelf shot down over the Mareth Line and imprisoned in Stalag Luft III, knew several of the 'dam-busters' and hay hased bis story on first hand information, official records, and Guy Gibson's own account of the raid in his book "Enemy Coast Ahead.”
