Tomorrow's Chances At The Valley
By "RAPIER"
The Seventh Race Meeting under the auspices of the Hongkong Jockey Club will be held on two consecutive. Saturday afternoons, the first tomorrow and the second on May 17.
Each day's programme will consist of ten events, and it may be worth while to point out that half of tomorrow's races are sprint affairs and that a Httle care in noting the draw for positions may prove profitable.
The first saddling bell will be, with English Cabbage second and! rung at 1.30 p.m. each day and
the first race
will commence
promptly at 2.00 p.m.
flere are my estimates of the chances.

.
The first event is confined to Class 9 ponies, Weight 147 Jockey Allowance.
Debutante third.
10TH RACE

The day's racing will wind up with another sprint event con- section Class 5 Class fined to third

The second lot of panies will contest this event and an interesting race should ensue.

ATHLETIC MEETING
By "RECORDER"
Records should fall at the Quadrangular Athletic Meeting at Kai Army, South China Tak on Sunday between the Royal Air Force, Athletic Association and SSS (Skipton's Sclected Spartans).
In grave danger is the Colony 1,500 Metres record, The Colony record hold- er, Sgt. J. P. MacMahon, agafn meets Gar. E. Coburn, the newest long distance Peter West thinks the winning time will be between powerhouse, in this race.
4 minutes 9 seconds and 4:11. The Colony record is a modest 4:27.5.
Considerable interest is centred also in the question of whether Stephen Xavier will turn up the equivalent over matres of his 10 seconds and 22.1 seconds for the 100 and 220-Yards at the RAF Sports. He will certainly have the cream of local sprint talent to push him.
The entrance to the meeting afternoon, com- on Eundny mencing at 2 p.m., will be the Arst RAF entrance past runway extension on the road leads Ngauchiwan, This directly on to the RAF cricket ground.
