The Anglo-American controversy for command of the Mediterranean flared up again today with the Prime Minister, Mr Winston Churchill, dodging a broadside of Parliamentary questions and British naval chiefs holding firm in talks with Admiral William Fechteler, United States Chief of Naval Staff.

It was a much attenuated British Industries Fair which opened simultaneously at Earls Court and Olympia today. By midday only 212 overseas buyers had passed through the turnstiles at Earls Court: which houses the Commonwealth section
