FAVOURITES WIN THROUGH IN COLONY SENIOR BADMINTON CHAMPIONSHIPS
By "ARGONAUT"
The favourites won through in the second night's programme of the Colony Open Senior Badminton Championships at St. Teresa's hall yesterday.
The best performance of the night was put up by the tinranked pair of Bill Funk and Jimmy Koo, who might well have produced the first major upset of the tournament, but for the difference of a point.
Playing against the seeded pair of P. Wong and C. K. Lee, Funk and Koo opened with a devastating attacking game and had their opponents in a helpless con- -fusion up to 13-4 and 14-5.
Both Funk und Kop were in brilliant form, Funk_scoging with foreing drives and feinting shots, and Kee with powerful smashes.
