An order for the closure of three houses at Nos. 444-8 Shanghai Street, was Issued by Mr James Wicks at Kowloon this morning. The application for the closure order was made by the Building Ordinance Office of the PWD.

In making the order, Wicks said he would give the tenants until April 30 to vacate the premises,

The Magistrale remarked that he had inspected the premises carlier this morning and found them in a very dongorous condi tion. It seemed, he said, there was no alternative but to issue the -closure order.. He felt, however, that the only thing he could do was to give reasonably enough time for the tenants to locate other accommodation.

He ordered that the buildings vacated and pulled niust be dawn before the rainy season which would start sometime' at The end of April, as he regarded the buildings as dangerous not only to the occupiers but to the pille in the sircet.

At this juncture u wornah tenant told the Court that she children to support hud seven and her husband unly earned $200 a month. She said it would be u hardship for her to look for other accommodation.
