SENIOR "B" DIVISION TEAMS ARE TO BE COMMENDED FOR TAKING BLACKHAWKS ON
"GRANDSTAND"
Says
The Senior "B" Division teams, are to be commended for their sporting acceptance of the challenge from the Junior League Black- hawks as it is not often that a senior outfit will condescend to meet, a minor loop squad, and in this case it is in response to a genuine desire - by the Hawke to test their strength,
The Senior teams are serious in their effort to preserve the jealously guarded honour of their division, and have worked out an all-star alde which will include the cream of the US Navy, Warriors and Red Sox.
Fans who have watched the Junior League games know, too well that the Blackhawks, who have chalked up 15 consecutive victories, are not to be underrated, for even though they may not be able to solve the lightning pitches, they are fleet- footed when it comes to base-running.
Rene Sequeira, who has taken charge of all Junior affairs, will have all his regulars out in full strength,

World Mourns The Passing Of A Fine Sportsman
The world mourns the passing of a fine sportsman. King George VI was not a natural all-rounder, but by his very enthusiasm and determination made himself pro Aclent at all sports to which he turned his hand. ̈ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄
He will in particular be remembered as a tennis player of more than average ability. In 1920 he won the RAF Doubles title with Sir Louls Greig. Six years later, with the same partner, he made history when as the Duke of York he became the first member of the Royal Family to compete at Wimbledon.
He had a strong left-handed service and a powerful forehandi drive but despite these pasets he and Sir Louls were defeated
