Today On Resolutions To

End East-West Deadlock

Paris, Jan. 23.

The United Nations Political Committee is expected to vote to- morrow morning on Peruvian and Soviet resolutions designed to end an East-West deadlock preventing 16 nations from being admitted as mem- bers.

Hitherto the Security Council, which has the final say on the admission of new members, has out-voted the Soviet-sponsored applicants while Russia has vetoed those sponsored by the West.

The Peruvian resolution calls on the United Na tions to consider applications for membership on their merits in a spirit of "objective reality."
