DROPS A Further Talks With Britain? London Announcement Of A New Envoy To Persia

!

Teheran, Jan. 20

The Iranian newspapers today expressed satisfaction over the de narture of the British Ambassador, Sir Francis Shepherd, from Teheran. They considered it a success for the nolicy of Dr Mossadegh, the Premier.

The Iranian Press hinted, however, that negotiations with Britain might be continued and that normal relations between the two countries might be restored although on a entirely new basis. The Iranian Press alleged that in the last ten days since his return to Teheran, Sir Francis Shepherd had made repeated mistakes. His first blunder, it said, had been to return to the Iranian Government its note on British interference in Iranian affairs.

He made another mistake in | asking Dr Mossadegh to with draw his hate ordering closing down of British consulates in fran was added.

The accusation was supported by documents and photographs.
