By
"GRANDSTAND”
Jaguars drew ahead of the pack in the race to Pennantville when they sub- dued the rival Saints by 8-1 yesterday behind Vic Pedruce's steady hurling stint, while South China's effort proved futile as they were shaded 2-0 by the Braves in a brilliant fielding display by both sides which lasted 45 minutes.
Wahoos regained leadership in the Ladies' League when an eight-run uprising in the fourth inning, sparked by Terry Noronha's line-drive to left field which was the needle game of the fumbled, enabled the Owls to better the Squaws 12-9 in distuff loop.
Several interesting games in the Junior League were Wils nessed, with South China nesung 9-8 in a last out the Dragons inning rally, while Pundes out- bit Delawares but lost out on

The impossible happened at Boundary Street yesterday when a
School record crowd of about 300 saw King George V
the mighty Gremlins to record the upset of the season with a 3-1 victory.
An Inspired defence-the most brilliant member of it beingʻright-back Shirley Winterton-stood its ground in the way of the most dangerous forward line in the League and kept pushing the game out to the wings....
Fast work by the School wing-halv es, Diana Jillott and Julia Tingay, switched defence into attack on half-a-dozen occasions and the Schoolgirls literally ran around the Gremlins with nobody in front of them but the goalkeeper to beat.
