England's 2-2 draw with Austria, which lived up to its anticipated reputation as "the Match of the Century," was notable for two things. Firstly, it demonstrated that the methods and tactics used in this country's football are still the best in the world. Secondly, it showed that we can still field a hall-back line that tackles as strongly as any which represented England before the war.
