London, Dec. §. Newcastle-on-Tyne will have

cancer treatment the 4,000,000-valt linear accelerator. This was stated by Sir Angus Watson, chairman of the Finance Committee of the North ol England Council of the British Empire Cancer Campaign.

Five of these British-designed "super X-ray" machines are being made for the Government for £37,000 each,

Sir Angus launched an ap- peal for funds from Durham miners. His committee plans to raise £20,000 to build ag commodation for the linear. accelerator together with con sulting and treatment rooms at Newcastle General Hospital.
