Why we say Boudoir.
This French word has been taken just as it is into the English language so that its origin is not generally known. But a almost Frenchman will alway remember that in "bouder" his language means to pout or sulk, and a "boudoir" is a room into which a lady can re- tire to sulk in privacy.

Airline's Appeal
Three New Affidavits Presented
To Court
Three additional affidavits, two of them with regard to registration of the aircraft and the third dealing with Chinese law, were received by Mr Justice Gould and Mr Justice Scholes in the Full Court of Appeal this morn- ing in the airlines case.
The appeal brought by the Civil Air Transport Incorporated against the judgment of the Chief Justice, Sir Gecard Howe, which dismissed their claim to possession of 44 aircraft held by the Central Air Transport Corporation and grounded al Kal Tak airfield, was adjourned
on August 28 when judgment was reserved.
Mr Justice Gould then stated that in view of the difficult case the Court might want to hear Counsel further.
It is recalled that the case for the CAT Incorporated was argued by Sir Walter Monckton, KC, MP, eminent leader of the Engilsh Bar, on March 28 and 29. Sir Walter came specially from England to assist in the
case.
Appearing for the appellants this morning. as in the pre-
vious hearing, were the Hon Leo d'Almada, KC, Mr John McNeill, KC, and Mr D. A. L. Wright. al lustructed by Mr P. J. Griffiths, of Wilkinson and Grist.

means that they have to defray the additional unforeseen expense after they have fortunately lost most, if not all, of their belongings, although, or the other hand, it means that the Government will have an additional bcome of many thousands of dollars! But I hat have good reason to believe that the Government is not prepared to take the advantage to aug- ment its
its treasury at the expense of such poor victims. I there fore venture to suggest that the Commissioner of Registration of Persons be authorised to waive the fine of $5 each that would normally be imposed on such victims as those who have lost their Identity Cards evidently as a result of the fire that broke out of Tung Tau Village on Wednesday night.
Finally, I beg to state that the above is written solely for the sake of charity and without the slightest intention of deprivi ing
Government of its legitimate revenue. However, should the Government and it not possible to walva such charges for some reason
