Prison For False Statement
Not Guilty Of Manslaughter
Found not guilty by a majority verdict of 5-2 on a charge of manslaughter of a 46-year-old Szechuanese named Sung Hoi-chow in the Chatham Road Detention Camp on September 27 last, three Northerners were discharged at the conclusion of their trial before the Senior Puisne Judge, Mr Justice Gould, at the Criminal Sessions this morning.
The men acquitted were Cheung Chan-chi, 26, of Tientsin, Wong Wo-shing, 29, and Wong Hoi, 23, both of Shantung Province. In the case of the first accused, his discharge was formal as he is being held under an expulsion order which had been made against him
prior to the incident.
