One man can save England from an Austrian soccer lesson at Wembley next month-Arsenal manager, Tom Whittaker, whom the FA, in their wisdom, sent to spy out the land in Brussels.

Defence Force Will Hold Up Softball League Programme
By "GRANDSTAND”
With the Softball pennant chase running into the seventh week, and the contenders for the flag still bunched up, it seems that the race will be held up dwing to the Defence Force winter training programme which will strip the Braves and Jaguars of sufficient manpower to necessitate several postponements,
Playing time being limited in the season's programme, it would be a wise move on the part of the Management Committee to make arrangements immediately for playing off later games in order to provide time for the postponed games to be replayed.
