NOTICE TO SHAREHOLDERS, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an Extraordinary Londra Motthy of the members of The Hongkong Electric Company Limited will be hold at the Company's Registered Ofee, P. & 0, Building, Victoria in the, Colony of Hong Kong on Friday, the 28th day of September 1951 at 11 o'clock when the following Résolution will be proposed as an Ordinary Resolution:

"That arising out of the Directors decision to re- value the Generating Plant and Distribution System of the Company in decórdance with present day costs and values as at 31st December 1960, such valuation having been adjusted according to the expected life of each Individual item of equipment a Capital Reserve Account of the Company of $15,831,861.00 has been created, and It is now considered desirable to capitalise a sum of $14,000.000,00, being part of such Capital Reserve Account and that accordingly a special capital bonus of $14,000,-~| '000.00, free of income tax be declared and that such bonus be applied on behalf of the persons who on the 26th day of September 1951 were holders of the 2,100,- 000 fully paid-up Issued shares of the Company In pay- ment in full for 1,400,000 new shares of the Company of the nominal value of $10.00 each, and that such 1,400,- 000 new shares credited as fully paid be accordingly allotted to such persons respectively in the proportion of two of such new shares for every three of the said Issued shares then held by auch persons, respectively, and that the shares so ullofted shall be treated for all purposes as an increase of the nominal amount of the capital of the Company held by each shareholder and not na income, and further that such new shares shall as from the 1st day of October 1951 rank for dividend and in all other respects PARI PASSU with the already lasued shares." ·
