J. B. When he wrote "The Linden Tree", Priestley came to grips with real people and vital issues, and in doing so produced a play that filled the Duchess Theatre in London for months with audiences raptly absorbed in the problems of the Linden family. The radio adaptation by the BBC will be broadcast in "Wednesday Night Theatre" at 9.30 p.m. on Wednesday.

"At the Opera" on Thursday night at 9.30 brings listeners the first act of Wagner's "Tristan and Isolde." The scene of this tale of tragic love is Cornwall, from where the original legend of Acts 2 and 3 of "Tristan and Tristan sprung. Isolde" will be heard at the same time on the following two Thursdays.

The fifth and final Test Match between England and South Africa continues today, and 15 minuter of commentary or the play will be relayed direct from the Oval at 9.15 this evening, and Monday. On Tuesday, the last day of play, the description of play will be recorded and reproduced at 9.45 p.m.
