Under a proposed new rule-one of several revolutionary changes which are likely to follow the suggestions for uniform laws of the game made by the negotiat ing commillees of the USA Golf Associati on and the Royal and Ancient Rules of Golf Committee the obstructing ball can be lifted while the other is played.
Their recommendations will now co me before the various governing bodies for ratification.

Managers And Coaches
Are Out On The Hunt For Softball Talent
By "GRANDSTAND"
Adverse weather conditions which washed out the week's games have given managers and coaches time to reflect on their probable start- ing nines when they get down to serious playing in the regular season.
In a gruelling season several things can happen which will throw a team out of gear, the greatest hazard being sudden epidemics of hitless stretches which can plague the heaviest slugging outfit.
A cagy bench boss will have plenty of reserve strength to make substitutions at the correct time, and woe befall the team that cannot rake up a hit in a clutch situation.

There's Always Hope Right Up To The Last Hole
Says BOBBY LOCKE
Most golfers playing in medal competitions set out intent on bagging as many birdles as possible. I play for bogeys, and when a birdie comes along I accept it gladly- and still keep going for bogeys.
The golfer who over-striven for birdies is setting himself an impossible task. In my view,

THE SECRET OF WINNING
The secret of winning gold tournaments is not only to glory, when things are running your way but to be equable when adversity comes along.
Having a bad hole or two in the first round does not mean the loss of a tournament.
As an example of that I recall me at the what happened to
