The Chairman of the Hongkong Fire Insurance Company, Limited, the Hon. D. F. Landale, said that the results for the past year had unfortunate- ly been marred by an exceptionally high loss ratio, when presenting his report at the Annual General Meeting this morning.

He added that the increase in premium income shown by the 1949 results had been maintained.

The company declared a dividend of $11 per share, free of tax.
