Chinese Troops Link Up With The Vietminhese

Hanoi, Apr. 10.

Chinese troops invading northwest Indo- China were reliably reported today to have linked up with the Communist-led Vietminh forces in a twin drive into the French held country of Thai tribesmen.

Advancing southeast from Phong Tho through a steep river valley, the Chinese invader battalion contacted Ho Chi-minh's forces at Tamduong. Tamduong is 30 miles northwest of Lai Chau, pro- vincial capital of the Thai country where French troops have set up defence lines against the Chinese incursion which began on April 1.
