Detail-A "China Mail" Feature
"Belshazzar's Feast"
Over Radio Hongkong Tomorrow
Tomorrow night at 10.16 Radio Hongkong The will be broadcasting "Belshazzar's Feast." text of this choral work consists of selections from the Holy Bible chosen and arranged by Osbert Sit- well and including passages from the books of Isaiah, Daniel, and the Psalms. The music is by the contemporary English Composer Sir William Walton.
An interesting feature comes at half past ten on Friday, namely "The Story of the New House of Commons." Victor Goodman, reading Clerk of the House of Lords, was on civil defence duty at the Palace of Westminster on the night of May 10, 1941, "a good night for a raid," in his words--and his description of the events of that night forms the prologue of this story of how a new House, designed by, Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, has risen on the ashes of the old.
own
The narrator of this documentary is the Ma- haraj Kumari Indira of Kapurthala, Parliamentary Reporter in the BBC's Overseas Services, and daughter of the Maharaja of Kapurthala.
A new adventure serial for children begins on It is called "Pirater Creek,” Friday at 6 o'clock. and the leading characters are two English boys, a French girl, and a Chinese boy, who live on Karania, atti- an island in the Mediterranean. The friendly tude of the inhabitants of this island towards the far- eigners suddenly changes and strange things go on in an old wreck in the Pirates' Crech. The children find themselves marooned on board and it takes six exciting episodes to clear up the mystery.
(Broadcasting on a frequency of 845 kilocycles per second and on 9.52 megocycles per second in the 31 metre band).
