American Tributes To Chinese Reds' Qualities Fighting

On the Western Front in Korea, Jan. 31. General Matthew B. Ridgway, the Comman- der of the Eighth Army, who visited the Western front today, praised the fighting qualities of the Chinese Communist soldiers opposing the United Nations forces north of Suwon.

"They stay in their well-constructed trenches no matter how much artillery or air strikes are put on them," he said.
