p.m. on Thursday Rena Keown, mezzo-soprano, and John MacLeod, baritone-two Scottish artists who are well-known to listeners-will be singing some of the settings of Burns. They will be accom- panied at the piano by Betty Drown.

Of interest to music lovers are several pro-1.30 grammes this week. Among them is that at 8.45 tomorrow night, Sunday, when the usual Hong- kong "Prom" Concert from the studio is to be replaced by BBC recordings from the Oxford Music Festival. The two works to be played are Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra by Stanford, and Vaughan Williams' latest Symphony, No. 6 in E Minor. It is played by the BBC Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Sir Adrian Boult. The in which the soloist is Frederick concerto, Thurston, the world famous clarinettist, was ber-Vocal: Bob designed as a tribute to Richard Muhfeld, for Parket: Angela Mia (Pollack) whom Brahms wrote his clarinet works.

drowned, and mur- pitiful handful of eighteen sick mon struggled back to Spain in the one ship remaining from the five that had set out three years earlier. The part of Magellan is played by Arthur Young, and that of the narrator, one of the few survivors, by Bernard Miles.
