CATHEDRAL SERVICE AND COURT ADDRESSES THIS MORNING
The spiritual function of national order was the theme of the ser- mon preached by Bishop Hall in 'St John's Cathedral this morning at the Assizes service which preceded the ceremonial opening of the Assizes at the Supreme Court later.
The Bishop said that the Nation and the Church alike were divine institutions, but the officers of both were fallible human beings. They could not help but commit errors.
1
Present at the service were the Acting Chief Justice, Mr E. H. Williams, the Senior Puisne Judge (Mr Justice Gould), the Acting Puisne Judge (Mr Justice Scholes), Julicial officers, Law officers of the Crown and members of both branches of the legal profession, and their ladies.
