The Dutch Ladies' hockey team never anticipate defeat. They acknowledge a lost game only when it has finally been lost through the umpire deciding that it is full time. Then they cheer the opposition and their supporters join in and the winners really feel that they have accomplished, something,
But winning a match from the Dutch Ladies is no easy business. At their best they are capable of taking points from any team in the League. At their worst, every good movement is spontaneously acknowledged by cheers that can tear the heavens apart. While the opposition stops dead in terror it can be further con-
fused and annihilated by being attacked by a big for. ward, a medium-sized one or, a small one.
As they line up, they are:
The defence Miss Jifke Driessen, Mrs Hilda do Lange and Mrs Do Stadtman.
The half-back line Mrs Annio van Daalen, Mra Jobs van Houten and Miss Jet Borren.
The forwards Mrs Gerdi Kasteleyn, Miss Annelein Witkamp, Mrs Lilian Brandt, Miss Nicolet Kamerling and Mrs Riek Pach.

CAME AFTER THE MOST EXCITING
MATCH OF THE YEAR
By "ARGONAUT”
With the approach of the Christmas festivities, the Colony bad- minton league matches slowed down somewhat during the past week, and although the first round games are scheduled to be completed by this week, still a great number have remained unplayed.
Pride of achievement during the past week's games goes to the Men's "B" team of Recreio and the Men's "C" team of Chung Wah. The Recreio six gained their greatest success of the season so far, when they shattered Chung Wah's unbeaten record with a 5-4 victory in the most exciting match this year.

Another noteworthy feature of the week's games in this League was the first success of Kowloon Tong. They had been on the verge of this in no less than two previous matches, going down by the hair-breadth 3-4 margin. This week, strengthened by the return of C.C.
