case you haven't checked up lately.

You've every sort of tin there and it gives you a cosy feeling to know there is a meal there at a moment's notice if the butcher is closed.

But storing can become a habit. You soon can't bear to get busy with your tin-opener and eat the contents of even one tin. But there's a time limit. Your tins will keep only a certain time.

Move them around a little, see if any one of them has de- veloped "bulge." If it has and it makes a "plopping" noise when pressed, there is gas at work in your fin and it must be scrapped.

Keep a pencil handy in the kitchen, and, before you slip a fresh tin away on the shelf, slip the date of purchase on its label.
