Taipoh, October 8.

Unconfirmed Nationalist reports reaching Talpeh today sold that the Communist polico.had begun a 'sories of mass arrests in Shanghal of factory workers with "questionable thoughts.”

This was believed to be part of a plan to send 1,000,000 "socially undesirables" to labour camps in Manchuria and Sibèria, as alleged by the. Nationālist authorities recently.

The English-language newspaper, "China News,” sold that 3B technicians and workers were arrested. in ono Shanghai laboratory to undergo re-education ar, failing the successful accomplishment of that alm, compulsory labour.

The newspaper reported that the Communists had started a campaign to procure 1,000,000 cotton- padded Jackets, presumably for the slave labour teams sent to Marichuria and Siberia.

The Shanghai City authorities had been charged with obtaining 300,000 such Jackets; and Nanking 100,000.-Reuter.
