LADIES SUMMER SERIES RACE

The main event during the past week was the final race in the Ladies Summor Series which was sailed on Saturday afternoon and which was won by Miss Boyfo.

There was a foir wind and a slack tide at the start of the race, which made for ideal con- ditions.

During the first lop there was little to choose between the various boats.

Mrs. Brown, Miss Porteous and Mrs. Eddis were ahead at the end! of the first lap, but lost some af their wind under the lee of Kel- lett Island and Miss Boyle, who had kept out further in the tide,

Two Intra-Club cricket trial matches were played yester- day, one at Chaier Road and the other at Cox's Road, Kow- loon.

In the match at Chater Road, which was between two teams of the Hong Kong Cricket Club. the "A" team bent the "B" team by 147 runs.

Batting first,

Ball was the most successful bowler for the "B" team, cap- turing three wickets for 36 runs.

Against the deadly bowling of Cull, who took four wickets for 13 runa, the "B" team were all out for 72 runs, L, F. Stokes being top-scorer with a runs.
