Mr. Pyliotis, when interviewed by the "China Mall" yesterday, excused himself for not being able to say much about conditions in China, explaining that ho Was often ill recently. "I left China because I have been trans- ferred by my Government from Ching to a new post in South Africa," Mr. Pyliotis added.
Asked about his general im- pression 'about the country where ho has been staying for two years, Mr. Pyllotis merely said that he loved China and the Chinese people very much. "They are very good people indeed", he added.
Mr. Pyllotis said that there are about 400 Greeks residing in China, the majority of whom aro in Hurbin and Dairen engaged in business activities.
Mr. Fyllotis went to China in July, 1948. Shortly before the fall of Nanking to the Communista in the Spring of 1949, he pro- ceeded to Shanghai where he haß been staying untit lie boerded à train for Tientsin on August 3 on his way home.
