Peaceful settlement on the basis of strength

London, July 5. today called for now talks with the Russians to seek a settlement before they possess the "devastating power" of atomic weapons.

Mr. Winston Churchill, leader of the Opposition,

"It is my belief that the American superiority in atomic warfare 'is, for the time being, an effective deterrent against a general Communist onslaught," Britain's wartime Premier told the House of Commons, debating the Korea war.
