Second survey in Lantao Island development plan
The second survey of Lantao Island on Sunday last, undertaken by a party of more than 200 membors, was nothing more than exploratory, and whether or not the island can be develop- ed to the extent of taking in some 40,000 sattlers has yet to be closely examined. Sponsors of the scheme said yesterday that from
all accounts large scale development of the island is not impracticable, but as in any large scheme there must be not only suffic cient financial backing, but also the tech- nicalities and promotion work that will have to be gone through first.
