INVESTMENT PLAN FOR S. EAST ASIA Discussion at the Sydney Conference
Sydney: May 20.
Delegates to the Commonwealth conference on aid to South East Asia which ended here last night, were confident that a long- term capital investment scheme for the area would be working by June, 1951, it was authoritatively stated here today. They said a £15,000,000 long-term aid plan had been discussed in addition to the £8,000,000 which the conference agreed to devote to immediate technical aid, but a decision had been deferred until the next con- ference of the Commonwealth Consultative Committee in London in September.
