U.S. SCIENTISTS SAY THEY ARE CHOKED BY SECURITY MEASURES
New York, May 16,
Scientists believe the U.S. would have to use science to win a war with the Soviet Union. Many believe the U.S. also needs an advantage in scientific weapons to keep Russia from attacking before the U.S. can" achlovo a peaceable world.
Yet, many scientists believe that today the U.S. is destroying, not building, its scientific resources. In the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists — a journal edited by scientists who developed the tools of World War II- one recently asked: "Is the United States strangling the goose that laid the plutonium egg?”.
