DEFENCE FORCE'S CELEBRATION DINNER

SOLDIERS RETURN TO HK

Twenty-five former Nu- tionalist soldiers returned to Hong Kong yesterday from Taiwan where. Nationailst-off- clala refused to allow them to land.

The Hong Kong Defence Force yesterday celebrat- ed the First Anniversary of its birth with a dinnor, held last night in the "Drill Sheds, Murray Parade Ground, which was attended by nearly 500 members and their guests. The Governor, Sir Alexander Grantham, who was present, told the gathering: "I know I am speaking on behalf of the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief and of myself when i say I am very well pleased with the qualities and extremely proud of the Defence 'Force". The Band of the 1st Bn.. Middlesex Regiment, was in attendance.
