BURMESE FOOTBALL XI SUFFER THIRD DEFEAT

HONG KONG, TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 21, 1950.

Badminton standard has much improved

(By "ARGONAUT)

The visiting Burmese Football team suffered their third defeat in the Colony

yesterday losing to a Hong Kong XI by four goals to two at Boundary A review of the first three nights' games of the Street before a large crowd of football fans.

The visitors had only themselves to blame for losing as their forwards lacked unity in attack. Pugs- ley, their centre-forward, had many chances to score but frittered them away by either poor shooting or waiting too long before parting with the ball and thus allowing tenacious Tennuci to rob him of the sphere.

Pick of the visiting team was Gwan Shion the inside- right. He tried hard to pierce the Hong Kong defence but was poorly supported by his fellow forwards, Gwan was finally rewarded for his antorprising play when he pounced on a fum- bled ball by Lockor, and scored in the 42nd minute of the second half.

Au Kim, the Burma goalie play- eri a fine game and by his excel- lent positional play saved many cental goals,
