STRONG U.S. PROTEST ON CHINA BLOCKADE Illegal Shelling Of American Shipping

"INDISCRIMINATE ATTACK"

Washington, December 3.

In a strong note of protest, the United States has demonded that the Chinese Nationalist Government worn its warships that they cannot fire illegally on American vessels running the China coast blockade.

The State Department disclosed today that the rebuke was delivered on Friday to the Chinese Foreign Minisfer, Mr. George Yeh, who is now in Hong Kong. Whereas the Secretary of State, Mr. Dean Acheson, had emphasised in a new conference on Wednesday that he wishod all American ships would stay out of the "hazardous" Shonghai area, Saturday's note hammered the reverse side of the case-insistenco that the Nationalist warships should not illegally attack American vessels.
