General Chang Yi-ting, -de- puty spokesman of the Defence Ministry, today admitted a re- volt by two Nationalist divi. sions. This, he said, left a cap which made possible the present Red thrust into Szechuan. The revolt occurred In North West- ern Huran.

Chang identified the two divi- sions involved as former militia who were recently, incorporated into the armies of General Sun Hsi-lien, cornmander of the Gov- evarment forces in the Hunan- Hupeh-Szechwan border area.

There was no known dam- age, the report said, although one of the four bursts from the planes came within a few feet of the Tsinan. (It was not clear whether the four bursts mentioned were the only ones fired by the planes or were only those directed at the Tsi- nan.)

The message added that Dr. Gay Schram of the United States Consulate in Shanghai is aboard the Tsinan.
