Scathing Attack On State Of Soccer In HK

(By "ROVER")

HONG KONG, TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 1949.

A scothing attack by Mr. Lai Yuk-tat on the existing state of football in this Colony and the "temptations" boing placed in the way of play- ers, featured the monthly Council Meeting of the Chinese National Amateur Athletic Federation on Friday last.

Mr. Loi, who is one of the Councillors of the CNAAF and a representa- tive of the Chinese Amateur Athletic, did not mince his words, but was quite frank about the corruption which existed in some sections of local soccer and the effect of such corruption on the youngsters -the footballers of tomorrow.
