SEAMEN'S APPEAL UPHELD

Capetown, September 6.

The appeal of the men of the crew of the Canadian ship Cambray, who were con- victed by the Capetown Magistrate's Court for con- travention of the British Mer- chant Shipping Act of 1894, was upheld in the South Ain- can Supreme Court today..

The Judge President held that! the British Act did not apply to the Canadian crew. The case re- lated to the strike of the men of the 7.15-ton Cambray while the ship was la dock in Capetown In April.

Their appeal was granted on the ground that they had commit td no offence the British Act had na application to British ships registered in Canada.

The problem of procedure for hearing views of minorities and "significant interests" by the Indonesian round-table conference here was taken a step further towards solution today.
