The House of Lords today de- elded to stand firm on its demand that operation of the Govern ment's bill to nationalise klec! thould be postponed until after next year's General Election.

Lord Salisbury, leader of the Opposition, announced this today when the Lords discussed House of Commons' rejection of their mendment to the bill to this effect.

The Conservatives are expected 1 resitre the rejected amendment inter today.

As the Government, with its uverriding majority in the Com: mons, has also stated that it will stand rm, the bill, according to present plans, will be re-intro- uced in Jumiary and passed into law over the heads of the Lords by means of the ammended Pur- llament Act-Heuler.

The U.N. Conciliation Commision for Palestins announced today that both Arab and Israeli delegations here have assured the Commission of their desire to reach a just and permanent peace in Palestine.
