Boats Damaged In Week-End Yachting

(By "RUBBINGSTRAKE")

Week-end sailing proved costly both to the Club and to Members, due to the strong squally winds and the resultant damage to sails and boats. At least four dinghies capsized and others had to receive assistance.

Four Redwings put to sea on Sunday afternoon but they soon decided that discretion was the better part of valour and the race was abon- doned before it started.

Rain today affected first class cricket for the first time this season. There was no play in the match between Cambridge University and Lancashire, no play before lunch in Glam- organ's game against Warwickshire and other County games were interrupted. Derby gained a ten wickets win over Somerset when

the latter's tailenders collapsed, the last six wickets adding only 24 runs. Derby bowlers had some good figures. Rhodes took four for nine to bring his match analysis to nine for 58. Jackson claimed three for 12 and Cop- son's three for 24 gave him match figures of seven for 48.
