The British and American Consulates today advised their nationals in Kwangtung and Kwangsi Provinces that, under the present circumstances, it would be wise for dependants and non-essential personnel to evacuate.
The advice is contained in similar circulars over the signatures of the res- pective Consul-Generals, Mr. G. F. Tyrrell and Mr. Raymond Luddon The circulars state that the advice is primarily for people residing outside the immediato urban area of Canton, There are about 250 Britons and 650 Americans in the consular district.
