POLITICS IN SCHOOLS BANNED IN NEW BILL

The teaching of political doctrínies and all political activities in schools are banned in a new Bill, the Education Amondmöfit Oidináhed 1948, which passed its first-roading in Legislative Countil yesterday.

The Ordinance gives power to the Governor-in- Council to close a school or to remove school managers or teachers chigaged in political in- doctrination. Moving the introduction of the Bill, the Attorney Général, Mr. J. B: Griffin, &xplained that the Education Ordinance 1913 tëquired all schools in the Colony to be regisföröd, and empower- ed the Director of Education fö gräkt ör fatüse applications for registration.
