The civil war moved with dramatic sudden- ness to little more than 100 miles of Nanking today when Communist forces under General Chen Yi, by-passing Hsuchow, struck Southword in the direc tion of Pengpu, noor where a decisive battle is expected to develop within the next few days, all reports received here agreed today.
