PRIVATE SECRETARY SURPRISED AT ACCESSIBILITY OF BELCHER

London, Novembar 23.

James Richard Cross, a 27-year old civil servant, told the Tribunal probing alleged corruption in Government circles today that he had been sur- prised at how easily Sidney Stanley, an alien who is a key figure in the inquiry, had access to the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Trade, Mr. John Belcher.

Cross has been Mr. Belcher's private secretary since 1947. He said hardly a day passed when Stanley did not either call personally on Mr. Belcher or telephone him.
