Dramatic Move To Solve Colony's Housing Problem ALLOCATION TO PUBLIC
Thirty-five vacant private residential premises on the Island and Mainland, including a number of self-contained houses, were seized by Government yesterday in a dramatic move to solve the housing problem and stamp out key money
rackets.
The requisition raids by the Police were carried out simultaneously on both
sides of the harbour at about 7.15 a.m.
Raids wore mada at Lockhart Road, Mosque Junction, King Kwong: Stroot, Caroline Road, Stubbs Road, Prince Edward Road, Pratas Street, Soares Avenue, Liberty Avenue and Stafford Road.
