By virtue of their fine win over Combined' Chinese in the first game of the Victory Shield, which was played on the Navy Ground at Cause- way Bay on Thursday last, Combined Services stand a very good chance of retaining the Shield, as in their next meeting with the Chinese, they only need a draw to win the Competition.
Although the game was arranged as a mid- week fixture last week, the stands were packed to capacity and spectators were treated to one of the most thrilling games seen in the Colony for a long time. Staging a brilliant recovery late in the second half, when they were being led by three goals to one, Army emerged victors by four goals to three.
