Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions met recently to discuss the question of High Cost of Living Allowance. In view of the fact that the Government had set up a Committed to investigate and detormine the rate of H.C.L. Allowance, it was resolved at the meeting to write to the Hon. Sir Man-kam Lo, Chair- man of the Committee, and bring to the notice of the Committee the views and opinions of the workers regarding their hope for a higher Allowance. The letter read:
