Table Manners
Not many things have golden rules. So when one comes along, take advant- age of it. And here one comes now.
To have good, table manners, do what your hostess does. If she puts her feet on the table, you put your feet on the table. Remember, whenever you are in doubt about what to do, do what your hostess does.
More mistakes are made in the soup course than any other. You shouldn't make a pig of yourself. Don't lean_on_ the table, and don't drool in your soup. You should sit up fairly straight, and be as dainty as possible, Break your bread, take small bites, and for the sake of the people near you, don't talk with your mouth full.
There are a few things you can eat with your fingers, such as corn on the cob, olives, etc, but on special occasions you can't,
Watch your hostess, If she eats chicken with her fingers, eat it with " your fingers. On plenics you can eat it with your fingers, but at a formal party, watch your hostess.
Never Never-—-NEVER go off_by your little self and do what you feel like doing. It's your hostess's job to do what is right.. It's simple: It's almost too simple, so don't forget it.

It is very important that there be something planned all the time.. There are times that you should let everyone sit around and talk. That is after you have had refreshments.
